Though I’ve been working on this for months, I’m only 2/3rd the way there. I’m only that far because of 2 things:
1. Time- I’ve been working part time for the past 6 months.
2. Money- I’m on government assistance, and the costs are too great for me to fund myself.
However, even though I have been working on the book for a while, I am trying to get it published within 3 months of the Xbox One, and PS4 system release dates.
To do this I am going to hire a co-author for my book, and note before you think “Oh, she’s not writing the book…” you’re wrong. I need the money to hire a co-author who is going to help me speed up the final part of the writing process so I can get the book out by January 2014. Otherwise if I did it on my own, I will not be able to get it out in my designated timeframe.
You may ask why not release the book later next year… and while that is a great idea, my research indicates that people will want to buy the book more if it coincides with the release of the next gen gaming systems. Basically I want to get it out while the subject of gaming is still a “hot topic….” And of course lies within the holidays. You have to also remember that the current gen systems were released 7 to 9 years ago, so if I chose to release the book with the next, next gen systems, I would have to wait 8 or more years for it to be effective timing.
Hiring a co-author is expensive, so the longer it takes to write, the higher the price. So I decided to condense my time with the author to lower costs, and advance my production schedule.
But the funds I raise here are not just going towards the co-author, no… I need to get the images, overall design, publishing materials, marketing team, and to actually print the book. So here is how I will use the funds:
Note that the amount is calculated by already taking out the 9% fee IndieGoGo charges. So I would need to raise approximately $3,000 or more on top of the funds raised for this table to be accurate.

Note that I will not accept compensation from the funds raised on IndieGoGo until I raise at least $75,000. Even then I will only accept 1% to 2%.
*Printing is expensive so I estimate that I can print 4,500 hardcover books and 2,500 paperback books for every $5,600 plus shipping. I consider this 1 printing set. But that is printing from China… because I consider myself a US Patriot; I prefer to provide the Made in America Stamp, since I want to help create jobs for every American citizen.
However to produce the same amount for each type, it would cost nearly triple
that with about: $16,000. So please scroll down to see the amount it would take
to have it printed in America. Note that all those who pledge will get to decide if I print the books in China or provide jobs in America and print them there instead.

**For my books to reach people across America, and the world, I wish to travel to do book signings in certain cities. So I will go to the following cities depending on the amount of funds raised.
***If I don’t hit the minimum funds raised, then I will remove my compensation, and travel percentages… and redistribute them to the necessary co-author, and printing sections.
If I end up at less than $10,000 funds raised, then I will forgo hiring a co-author, but the book will end up taking 50% longer to write, so those who contribute and earn rewards will have to wait up to 4 more months after the original proposed release date in order for their rewards to be received.
However if I raise more than $49,999, I will be able to afford additional options. Here is how I will use the money at certain fund levels:
$50,000- I will be able to afford 3 Made in China printing sets… totaling: 13,500 Hardcopy and 7,250 Paperback books.
$60,000- I will be able to afford to afford 1 set (4,500 HC, and 2,500 PPB) of books made exclusively in America. However I will have to sacrifice my 4 Made in China printing sets in order for this to happen.
$75,000- I will be able to afford 1 additional Made in China printing set… so far totaling: 18,000 Hardcopy and 10,000 Paperback books.
$100,000- I will be able to afford 1 more Made in China Printed Sets totaling the number of books printed to: 22,500 Hardcopies, and 12,500 Paperbacks.
Anything over $100,000 will go to the following 3 departments only: Printing (40%), Marketing (40%), and IndieGoGo Rewards (20%). Also for every $2,500 donated after the $100,000 goal is met, I will randomly give 1 donor a choice of either a PS4 or an Xbox One. To receive the prize the Donor can be anywhere in the world, but outside of the US, the donor must pay the shipping costs.

Are you an artist?- If so Do you draw, paint, sketch, anything video game related? If you do, then contact me, and send me your best work. I will evaluate it and if I like it, I will hire you to draw some illustrations to use it in the book.
Do you have connections? - Meaning do you know other gamers, companies, or artists? If you do, then share project with them. Those who have connections to retailers or businesses, will be “thanked” and will receive 1 eBook copy for every
business that wants to sell my book. Just make sure that business gives me your
contact information.
Do you have a similar story about video games saving and/or helping your life?
Then send them over, preferably with proof (photos, others knowing of your story). I will then choose up to 5 short stories to go along with my 3rd section of the book. If yours is chosen, you will receive a 1 eBook copy, 2 paperback copies, and 3 hardback copies of the book for free.
